Google partners with Bakkt to introduce digital assets to consumers
Google and Bakkt , a US-based digital assets platform, have collaborated to introduce digital assets to millions of consumers.Bakkt announced on Twitter on October 8, that its partnership with Google will enable Google to extend the reach and usability of digital assets to meet the rapidly evolving consumer demand and preferences.The consumers will benefit from the increased accessibility of the digital asset or cryptocurrencies services.Bakkt was launched in 2018 by Intercontinental Exchange, Bakkt is a trusted digital asset marketplace that enables consumers to buy, sell and spend digital assets. Bakkt plans to use Google Cloud’s tools to build new analytics along with artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and geolocation functions on its platform.
Department of Defense Looking to Expand Cloud Computing Overseas
On Wednesday, the U.S. Department of Defense outlined its goals that would help support service members outside of the U.S. by way of cloud computing, or OCONUS. The strategy calls for enterprise management of the cloud so that crucial data can be processed at its point of origin, or as close to it as possible, and service members can be trained in the technology. “It’s a whole-of-government approach in terms of working with members of Congress, with other federal partners, internal to DOD, also with our cloud service providers and developing a cohesive strategy that works for the department to be able to deliver these much needed services, to where they are needed,” said Metz, Chief Information Officer for INformation Enterprise.
Baltimore’s b.well joins AWS Healthcare Accelerator
Baltimore-based b.well Connected Health was selected to join a new healthcare-focused accelerator that Amazon Web Services is running this fall. b.well was one of 10 growth-stage companies selected for the four-week program. The accelerator is focused on growth companies, and cloud expansion. b.well’s platform is designed to be a ‘frontend’ for healthcare. It brings together data from disparate sources in one digital place. The company said its contracts with companies, health systems and insurers that serve 7 million lives.
